Classic SR-20 Soluble Support PN# 310-30500 no longer available from Stratasys. What are my options?

Stratasys is no longer selling part # 310-30500 SR-20 support, ostensibly to force companies to upgrade their Classic Fortus 400mc or 900mc machines. Argyle Materials to the rescue: we take the OEM handcuffs off. 

AI will tell you Stratasys PC-ABS uses soluble support, but the exact support depends on the printer family:

• F370 / F370CR: QSR Support
• Fortus 450mc: SR-110, or SR-20 PN# 355-03140
• Fortus 900mc / F900: SR-110

Therefore to keep running SR-20 on an older classic Fortus 400mc you can order a Plus canister # 355-03140 and swap the Eeprom chip: we'll provide the Classic chip in exchange for the Plus (black) eeprom chip. The two SR-20 canisters are exactly the same. All you need to od is unscrew the black Plus chip, remove the plastic indexing tab, pre-drill a new screw hole for the Classic chip and install the new white Classic chip. Then send the Plus chip back to us. 

Alternatively you can switch to our PC-ABS (its also flame retardant) and it prefers to run with an ABS-M30 eeprom which means you can run SR-30 Soluble Support or our Breakaway (HIPS) support using an SR-30 eeprom chip. By the way our Breakaway also works with OEM PC-ABS, offers faster support removal and much lower consumable cost; consider Breakaway if your parts have easily removed support.
